JSPM's Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy and Research, Tathawade, Pune was organized a function for taking epledge under Majhi vasundhara Abhiyan 2021. Webinar on Jan 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM India.Coordinator of program was Prof. Trupti Deshpande (Pharmacology Department of JSPM's RSCOPR) and Convener Dr. K.R Khandelwal. (Principal JSPM's RSCOPR)

Epledge for Group

  • We will formulate and implement our institute’s “Don’t print every email/ document” policy and print all documents double-sided if only required

  • We will install solar panels on our building rooftop as an alternate source of energy.

  • We will consciously optimize water usage in our premises and encourage our employees to practice the waster saving habits • Monitor water usage monthly • Install fixtures/water closets/lavatories that reduce water per flush in the common toilets • We will identify all water leakage problems from time to time to reduce water wastage • We will get a workplace water audit to identify where to make the most waster saving gains.

  • We will install a rainwater harvesting system in our office/institution building.

  • We will never waste food in the canteen/mess and encourage our employees to practice the same.

  • We will Install and maintain a set of dustbins for wet waste and dry waste in our premises and Provide containers at convenient locations to segregate and recycle cardboard, newspapers, office/mixed papers, glass, metal, and plastics. Majhi Vasundhara Pledge We pledge,

  • We will make our premises single use plastic free. Plastic cups/plastic bottles/plastic straws/ plastic cutlery etc. in our office/institution and opt for eco-friendly alternatives ceramic cups/glass or steel bottles/steel cutleries etc. • Switch to reusable coffee cups instead of Styrofoam/ paper/plastic cups by the coffee machines. • Encourage employees to use travel beverage mugs/ flasks instead of Styrofoam/ paper/plastic cups. • We will eliminate the use of individual plastic water bottles during meetings and conferences and replace them with glass bottles.

  • We will consciously optimize our electricity consumption by introducing energy saving measures in our office/institution and we will also encourage our employees to practice energy saving habits. • Switch to energy-efficient lighting • We will turn off lights when not needed such as lunch hours • We will install motion-sensitive lighting options; use energy-efficient air cooling instead of heavy-duty airconditioning in the summer • We will maintain the air conditioner at 24 °c.; • We will post reminder signs to turn off lights at the end of the day or when leaving an office; • We will encourage employees to take stairs instead of lifts/escalators • We will get a workplace energy audit to identify where to make the most energy-saving gains.

  • We will opt for green gifting options. • Give plant-saplings with a pot as a gift/souvenir instead of presenting flower bouquets and encourage employees to grow plants; • We will never use plastic wrapping papers • We will opt for gifts with minimum packaging ; • We will avoid sending mass-produced plastic-coated greeting cards/ other invites rather I will send plantable stationery (such as seed cards)

Number of participants for epledge was near to 300. Platform used to conduct the session was ZOOM. Students and Interested faculties attended the function.
